The ideal candidates for liposuction are ones that have fatty deposits, and that fatty deposit can be in the stomach, in the hips, the love handles, the inner thighs, the knees, the back, but it is not a substitute for weight reduction. It is mainly designed for recontouring and reshaping the body and getting rid of unwanted fatty deposits. It should be noted that we are limited in terms of the amount of fat that can be removed and this is very important in my preoperative consultation with the patient to determine if we can do the liposuction for all the areas that the patient might want to have done, and with that we determine how many areas we can do or should we just do one area at a time and then we decide and customize the treatment plan of the surgery for that individual patient.
