As part of the consultation, I always discuss with the patient whether or not she is a candidate for adjustable implants. Many physicians don’t offer that in their office and I have been doing this type of implant for over eight years. It is a very nice thing for the woman to be able to decide after the surgery if she wishes to be a little bit larger or a little bit smaller. The most common comment that most plastic surgeons find is that the woman loves her breasts after the surgery, but she does wishes she was a little bit larger and with the adjustable implants it give you that opportunity to go a little bit larger or also to fine tune and adjust a symmetries or unevenness between the two size. So, we can do the adjustable implants if she is not quite a 100 % sure or we can do the ones that are nonadjustable if that is her desire. However, at the present time I would say that 80% to 90% of my patients decide and chose to go with the adjustable style implants, so that they have that freedom of choice after the surgery. This is a patient who had adjustable implants, and after consultation we decided that adjusting was right for her after the surgery and here she is after being adjusted to her ideal size to adapt for size and symmetry.
