The neck lift surgery can involve different components and again that is where it is critical to analyze the patient, determine what the patient’s desires are. If the patient has very active muscles, these have to be tied together and this is usually done in an operating room, although a neck lift by itself can give fairly quick recuperation, may be 10 days to 2 weeks, it does require an operating room. In general, in about 85% to 90% of my patients, they are candidates for doing laser liposuction internally around the neck and then putting in the tension sutures or contour threads underneath the skin to help tighten and recontour that area and define the mandible and the jaw line, so we are again able to do minimally invasive types of surgical procedures with the latest technologies available. When the neck lift is done by itself using the laser lipo and the contour threads, the recoveries is usually within one week before the patient can go out and put on makeup, go out to dinner, most often it is only a week.
