The patients having the full-standard classic facelift can take three to four weeks to recuperate, which is a long time for most people. We have moved into less invasive-type procedures and you may have heard about the threadlifts or minilifts or things of this nature, and the threadlifts as originally described can have the patient recuperate in 24 or 48 hours. Having done many of these and being one of the first ones in New Jersey to do the threadlifts, I have found that not all patients had as dramatic result as I like, so I have developed the procedure or extended the procedure to remove some additional skin and do some additional tiny work underneath the skin. When I do this, I get a very tight look, and some of my patients who have had face lifts in the past have actually said to me, “this new procedure is making me tighter, tighter than my old-fashioned facelift, which took me a month to recuperate from” and I am seeing that these patients are able to recuperate within 5 to 10 days to go back to work, not have bruising, and have nice re-contouring, and of course over a period of three months, four months, six months, as things get tighter and tighter, they keep looking better. So, we have really been able to improve the quality of the results and reduce the recuperative time by exploring these none or minimally invasive type procedures.
